The all-new CX-3 comes with an 18-strong model line up, namely 11 petrol and 7 diesel variants that all combine Mazda's SKYACTIV technology and their KODO design language.

These variants are split amongst a five level grade structure. It starts with the base SE grade and adding navigation to this set-up gives you the SE Nav. Next up in the range is the SE-L, which also becomes the SE-L Nav when navigation is added. The top-of-the-range spot is held by the Sport Nav grade, which obviously comes with navigation as standard.

The entry level SE trim includes features such as 16" alloy wheels and heated and power folding mirrors while the SE-L models add rear privacy glass and front LED fog lights. The Sport Nav, at the top of the range, comes with LED headlights, signature LED rear lights, 18-inch Gun-metallic diamond-cut alloy wheels and chrome accent door sills.

All models feature items such as a 7inch colour touchscreen, DAB radio, Bluetooth and a multifunction steering wheel and there's a small optional-feature offering too with Metallic/Mica/Pearlescent paint (excluding the Soul Red colour) offered at £540, the Soul Red Metallic offered at £660 and Half Stone leather, half black Lux Suede interior trim available as an option on the Sport Nav trim only at £800.

The engine offering includes a 2.0-litre petrol engine with outputs of either 120ps or 150ps. The 120ps engine is available in all trims, with both manual and automatic transmissions and comes with front-wheel drive. At the top of the petrol range, the 150ps engine comes with an all-wheel drive (AWD) system and is matched to a six-speed manual gearbox, exclusively on the Sport Nav trim.

The diesel offering completes the line-up of engines for the all-new CX-3. It's Mazda's 1.5-litre diesel, also seen in the all-new Mazda2. This engine comes with front-wheel drive for the majority of its variants and a manual gearbox. There is a 105ps variant that comes with AWD and is offered with both manual and automatic transmissions on the Sport Nav trim.
