HMRC has released its latest advisory fuel rates (AFRs) and Advisory Electric Rate (AER) this week, which will come into force from 1st September 2023.
Available at https://comcar.co.uk/taxpages/afrs/ the two of the AFRs for petrol rates have increased. Engines up to 1,400cc engine remain the same (13ppm), whereas 1,400-2,000cc have increased by 2p (16ppm up from 15ppm) and over 2,000cc (25ppm up from 23ppm).
Diesel rates up to 1,600cc remain the same (12ppm), as well as 1,601-2,000c (14ppm) and engines over 2,000cc have increased by 1p (19ppm up from from 18ppm).
AFRs for all LPG-powered vehicles up to 1,400cc has remained the same (10ppm) and engines between 1,401-2,000cc (12ppm) and engines over 2,000cc have increased by 1p (19ppm up from 18ppm).
Hybrid cars are treated as either petrol or diesel cars for AFR purposes.
The Advisory Electric Rate (AER) used to reimburse drivers of electric company cars, has been increased by 1p (10ppm up from 9ppm) after being unchanged during the last quarterly review.
