- Ford revealed pricing and specs for the New Puma this week, with models bundled with high-spec ‘First Edition’ packs being exclusively offered for delivery from January, ahead of the full range becoming available to order early next year.
Available in three trims, Titanium, ST-Line and ST-Line X, each car uses Ford’s ‘EcoBoost Hybrid’ technology, a mild hybrid (mHEV) powertrain with a 48-volt battery, to enhance the new Puma’s fuel efficiency and performance – in both1.0l 125PS and 155PS engines.
With lower-spec variants not initially offered by Ford, the Puma range starts from £20,845 for the Titanium and features driver and passenger lumbar massage seats as standard, in addition to advanced wireless charging. The Ford Puma Titanium First Edition, available from £22,295, adds comfort and safety technology packs including Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, Rear View Camera, Heated Seats and Heated Steering Wheel.
Puma ‘First Editions’ are also available for the ST-Line X trim, adding sporty interior and exterior design cues and sports suspension, alloy pedals, full digital instrument cluster and LED headlamps. Starting from £25,195, the ST-Line X First Edition includes Handsfree Power Tailgate, 18” alloy wheels and 10-speaker B&O Premium Audio. The ST-Line X First Edition Plus starts from £27,345, with a 155PS engine, adding Panorama Roof and 19” alloy wheels.
- Polestar, Volvo’s electric performance brand, has revealed prices for the upcoming Tesla Model 3 rival, the Polestar 2.
Following on from the Polestar 1, the company’s electric performance hybrid GT, the Polestar 2 is an all-electric performance fastback SUV.
The 300 kW all-wheel drive powertrain has a large 78 kWh battery pack which Polestar is ‘targeting’ to deliver 310 miles (WLTP) of range. Initial production of the car will be limited to high specification models, featuring a suite of driver aids, including a highly advanced Pilot Assist and Plus package, panoramic roof and ‘pixel’ headlights.
The infotainment system will also be powered by Android Automotive OS, a first for any vehicle, which comes with Google Assistant, Google Maps and the Google Play Store. The car also features a ‘Phone-as-Key’ system and includes a Harmon Kardon sound system.
