• Porsche has given the Taycan range an extensive update. The new versions have more power, increased range, quicker acceleration, and faster charging with greater stability.

All three body variants will feature numerous modifications from the date of launch – the Taycan sports saloon, the Taycan Cross Turismo, and the Taycan Sport Turismo. In each case, four powertrain options are available, with rear- and all-wheel-drive variants.

Porsche has also sharpened the design and more strongly differentiated the Turbo models. All Taycan versions feature an even more extensive standard equipment list and come with the latest generation of the Porsche Driver Experience, featuring an improved display and control concept.

All updated models accelerate much faster than their predecessors. Two examples from both ends of the portfolio: as sports saloons, the Taycan and Taycan Turbo S reach the 0-62mph mark from a standstill in just 4.8 seconds and 2.4 seconds, respectively.

Depending on the body variant and engine, the WLTP range of the new Taycan has increased to up to 421 miles, an increase of 108 miles or 35 percent. The updated Taycan not only requires fewer charging stops on long trips than its predecessor but also recharges faster: at 800-volt DC charging stations, for example, it can be charged at up to 320 kW. That’s 50 kW more than before. The fast-charging window of the new performance battery has been significantly expanded. This means that charging capacities of more than 300 kW can be sustained for up to five minutes, and very high charging capacities can be achieved more quickly, even at low temperatures.

The Porsche Taycan is available to order now with prices for a single rear motor starting from £86,500 or a choice of three twin-motor powertrains: 4S (£95,900), Turbo (£134,100), and Turbo S (£161,400).

  • The new BMW 5 Series is now offered as an all-electric i5 Touring for the first time, with the plug-in hybrid model arriving in Summer 2024.

The sixth-generation BMW 5 Series Touring features larger dimensions and modern interior design updates, including the BMW Curved Display and BMW Interaction Bar.

The new BMW 5 Series Touring will be available in four distinct trim levels in the UK, including the Sport Edition, M Sport, M Sport Pro, and the range-topping BMW i5 M60 models.

The i5 Touring is the first all-electric premium model in its competitive field. It will be available in two versions from the outset. In the BMW i5 M60 xDrive Touring, two drive units on the front and rear axles together form an electric all-wheel drive with up to 601 hp. The top model accelerates from a standstill to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds, and its top speed is electronically limited to 143 mph. The electric motor of the BMW i5 eDrive40 Touring is located on the rear axle and generates a maximum output of 340 hp. The BMW i5 eDrive40 Touring accelerates from zero to 62 mph in 6.1 seconds.

In both models, the high-voltage battery located in the underbody provides a usable energy content of 81.2 kWh. The range determined in the WLTP test procedure is 277 to 314 miles for the BMW i5 M60 xDrive Touring and 300 to 348 miles for the BMW i5 eDrive40 Touring.

The new BMW i5 Touring is available to order now, with prices starting from £69,040.

  • Following the launch of the all-new MINI Cooper Electric, the Cooper family has expanded further with the introduction of two new petrol models: the MINI Cooper C and the performance-enhanced MINI Cooper S.

“At MINI, 'Power of Choice’ means that, in addition to all-electric MINI models, we also offer models such as the new MINI Cooper with a petrol engine. The car is ideal for all those people who want to drive a classic MINI 3-door and appreciate the traditional performance and characteristic sound of a combustion engine,” says Stefanie Wurst, Head of MINI.

The new MINI Cooper will be built at MINI Plant Oxford and is available in three well-specified trim levels – Classic, Exclusive, and Sport. Priced from £22,300, first customer deliveries will take place in Spring 2024.
